INSPIRATION
Inspiration fills you with hope

Visions of excellence excite your brain
like juicy flies landing on the water excite a fish

Visions of change course through your veins
like spring runoff fills and feeds the dry stream beds

Optimism shines from your eyes
like the strong sun shines on newly sprouted seeds

Determination becomes your support
as strong as a steel column.

George Washington would be proud
We rise as the announcer starts the event
to sing the national anthem, turning to face the flag,
men removing their constant companion caps.

The familiar song warbles feebly from the weak speakers in the gymnasium
which wasn't built for sound.

We are joined together-100 Americans in an Idaho gym-farmers, welders, teachers, athletes,
competitiors, business people, all proud for this moment to be Americans.

Your heart swells and your pulse quickens as your patriotism soars through your body.
You are proud of all the people just like you around the U.S.
There are alot of good people in America and here and now you are one of them.

Let the games begin!

Went snowboarding today
It was a great day. The snow in the Seattle Ridge area was good for boarding. I was making awesome turns and really enjoying them. Snowboarding is so different from skiing. Soft snow is definitely better for riding and the sport seems more mellow. I think there is more grace and smoothness to riding. It may just be that I wasn't a very good skier.

Anyway, I had a great day, gliding down the runs, visiting on the lift and just being outside. How lucky!

Oh, what a beautiful sunset tonight
It is at little later hour since we are closer to **spring**!
The sky is pink on top of the white and brown hilltops,
turning to white high in the sky.

The spring brings light and newness
which is very welcome after coming through the dark and closed down days of late fall and winter.

Aspens in Winter
Sitting silently
like wtches brooms
parked at a convention

Looking dead
but hiding their life
under a layer of grief
for the summer ended

Ocean

Fluid
Huge
soft and soothing yet dark and secret
A womb for life that never stops
constant movement
older than the hills
yet young and new each moment

Wednesday
mountains watching the blue sky
standing their ground as they have for
a million years
greeting their sister, the sun
who was distant
her mind was on her brothers in Chile
but she did grant her Idaho siblings a cool glance
